Final Project Idea

For my final project i think im going to take pictures of candles. This would be an intersting projects because there are tons of things i can do with candles. I can take pictures of them lit, or unlit. Plus, you see candles a lot during Christmas so this can be a sort of Christmas thing. I can play with light a lot with candles too. So im excited.

A lot of the time, cliches do look cool or interesting, the problem is that the are used too often. Sunsets are a good example of a very cliche photo because you see pictures of them EVERYWHERE although they do look very intersting. Another example are pictures of sea gulls on a post although i dont have any on here.

For this assignment we had to re-do an assignment. I chose my assignment #3 which was my bracketing assignment because i felt like this wasnt a very good assignment for me. I really like the one with the sign that said do not enter because it is very interesting and i just like it. My one with the tree shadows is really cool because it has good leading lines, its in focus, it has good contrast, and its really of nothing, like we were talking about in our critique today.

My face is shadowed in this picture and the focus is a little bad. It also looks like my neck isnt connected to anything and the light isnt very good. but i sorta like it

this looks too dark but i like it. The focus also isnt very good, but it looks cool.

THis is me. I like it because i like the light and the shadow and it is very in focus and my expression looks kinda weird.

I like this one becasue the contrast looks cool. Plus, it shows that she is kind of an adventurous person

This is my brother. He is a techno-wix. he likes building and tinkering with stuff. One time he even built his own electric drill. i like this because it shows him and what he likes to do. It shows him working and some of his tools and little projects. It is also in focus and the light is good :)

I do not like this one very much. Its too dark and too busy. but the focus is good and i like their expressions kind of. They are watching tv and its what they like to do.

This is one of my friends. I like this one because the contrast is good and i like her expression. It looks a little dark on my blog, but the print looks better

I love this one. I like the background and how shes looking away and her expression. The contrast is very good and there was very good light :)

Her clothes look too dark here but the print looks better. It shows that she is either a dancer or a cheerleader and she is a cheerleader. it shows what she likes to do and i like it. it is a little gray though

For this assignment we had to take portraits of people. I liked this assignment a lot because it was fun to get to know the people i was taking a picture of and i really like the focus and contrast in most of these. I didnt like to take the pictures of myself though, because it was harder to control what is going on and i just dont like to get my picture taken. My pictures were also a little too busy sometimes (the backgrounds had too much stuff in it. but all in all i really liked it.

THANKSGIVING EXTRA CREDIT

This is driving to thanksgiving at my grandmas house. Its a little grainy because my iso was accidentaly too high. Oh well. i like it

This is when we just got to my grandmas house and we were unloading the food we brought. I like this because the shadows look kida cool. Its in focus too

This is my mom before we left for thanksgiving at my grandmas house. the light in my house was really bad so i had to make the shutter speed higher, and this is what came out :)

This is thanksgiving dessert. I forgot ot take pictures of the actualy dinner, but this is just as good :) I think that my iso was a little high so it looks kinda grainy, but other than that the focus is ok :)

This is my dad on thanksgiving day. I like it because it is mostly in focus and it has semi good contrast. I should have had his looking away or not paying attention because this looks staged and a little cheesy.

This was an extra credit assignment. We had to take pictures of thanksgiving. It had to be the preperation and the finished thanksgiving product. I shot a lot of this assignment with my iso too high, so some of my pictures are a little grainy, but other than that, the focus is pretty good and for the most part, the contrast is ok :). HAPPY THANKSGIVING

MINI-FINAL

This one was in our lay on your backs or stomachs assignment. I was playing around with the focus for this one. I tried focusing on the bars and her face etc. but i ended up using this one with the focus on her face. This one also looks grayish. But i like the angle of the camera. :)

I like this one because of the position of the camera. In this assignment we had to get on our stomachs or our backs and shoot. This looks gray. But i like the story behind it.

This was in our assignment four. Black on black or white on white. I like this one becuase i like the postition on the necklace. The lighting is ok....

I really like this assignment although it was harder. WE had to shoot either black on black or white on white. The whites were harder for me because they turned out gray alot. I like this one because i got closer to the hair dryer and i didnt show the whole thing.

This one looks very different from the original. I shot this one in my backyard after it rained so the tramp looks shiny and i just looked out the window and saw the bike on the tramp and thought it looked cool. There is a story to this picture and thats what makes it fun.

I shot this at my cousin's house. The girl on the left is my cousin and the dorky kid on the left is my brother. I shot this for my assignment #2 and that was my numbers assignment when we had to take pictures of numbers. This number is 44. I like this one because it is in focus and it just looks cool :)

Joe Rosenthal

By the time Joe was 33, he was considered an AP photographer and before that, he photographed battles at places like New Guinea, Hollandia, Guam, Peleliu, and Anguar. He was born in Washington D.C. in 1911 and his parents were Russian Jewish immigrants, but he was converted to a Catholic. He was sonly 5 feet and 5 inches tall. He died on August 20th 2006 and he was 94 years old. "He had determination, grit, and good humor," said his daughter, Anne Rosenthal. He was very persistent and he care about his work. He shot a very important and famous picture of the army people raising the flag. A lot of people accused him of setting it up, but he didnt. He got very very lucky. He only had one shot and the flag was raised in just a few seconds, and he got a perfect shot of it. He got a pulitzer prize for this photo. He started talking combat photographs because he couldnt seve in the army because he had bad eyesight.

On yout belly! (Or back)-assignment #5

This one is one of my favorites. I like the focus and the angle. :) :) :) :)

i like this one because of all of the horizontal lines. A problem, though, is that there is a horizontal line in the middle and were not supposed to do that. oh well. this one is in focus. :)

This is my dog. I like this one. I like it because it makes him look a lot bigger than he really is. The problem with this one is that its not completely focused. But other than that, :)

This one was in my garage. I thought that it would look cool because of the many lines in it. It was really hard to get this one in focus, but i finally did it. Sort of

I love this one, although i was trying to get the focus on my sister and it ended up on the leaves in the tree.

I was inside and there wasnt very much light so i fixed the aperature and shutter speed and pushed the button, but i didnt realize that it was for six seconds, so after about 3 or 4 seconds, i gave up and sat up, and this is how it turned out :)

This isnt my favorite. Its really dark. But its sharp in the middle and the fan part looks kinda cool with the slower shutter speed

I love this one. I love how the light hits the grass. I love how its sharp and it looks really cool because its so close. Muy bien

I took a lot of pictures of my brother jumping on the tramp and then i realized that i had focused on him and because he was moving, he looked blurred, so none of the pictures were in focus, until this one. The focus is on the leaves on the tramp

I took my brother outside and took a bunch of pictures of him. I told him to stand still and he said something like, "I am!" or, "Why??" and then i pushed the button.

We had to shoot this assignment on our stomachs or on our backs and i really liked it because it is in a different perspective. I played around with shutter speed a little bit in this assingment and i really like it. Its hard to figure out what to focus on though. Some of the pictures i didnt like very much, but it was still fun :)
